synopsis An autobiographical play on the period that Moczarski spent in prison after World War II under sentence of death by polish authorities for his participation in the non-communist Polish resistance group – The Home Army.
Moczarski was imprisoned with Lieutenant General Stroop of the SS who was in large part responsible for the decimation of the Warsaw Ghetto. The plot consists of Moczarski’s painstaking effort to woo Stroop into a full disclosure of his life as a Nazi and his wartime atrocities. Adapted for the stage by Zygmunt Hubner from Moczarski’s memoirs.
