translator Fiona Templeton

Fiona Templeton is a poet, playwright, director and translator, born in Scotland, educated in Scotland and France and living in the US and the UK.  Her best-known work, which has been recreated in versions throughout Europe, is YOU-the City, “an intimate Manhattanwide play for an audience of one”.  She has received awards from the National Endowment for the Arts for both poetry and performance, New York Foundation for the Arts for both playwriting and performance, Cambridge University, the Foundation for Contemporary Performance Arts, Franklin Furnace, the Arts & Humanities Research Board, and the Abendzeitung München Sterne des Jahres for theatre.  She was a co-founder of the Theatre of Mistakes in the mid-70’s.  Visiting artist positions include Capp Street Projects San Francisco, Brown University, Bard College.  She currently teaches at Brunel University in London.
