playwright Tomasz Man

Tomasz Man was born in Rzeszow, in 1968. He studied literature, philosophy, history of art and knowledge about culture. In 1995 he was presented with an award of \"Tygodnik Powszechny\" for his debut play. In 1997 he traveled to India and started studying at the Theatre Academy in Warsaw. Another play - \"Katarantka\" was published by \"Dialog\" in 1998. In 1999 he wrote a rock-opera \"Misterium 1999\", based on medieval texts and folk stories. It was presented on the festival \"Klasyka Polska\" in Opole. After that he prepared in the Theatre Academy a play based on Dante\'s \"Divine Comedy\". In 2000 he staged his own adaptation of \"Crime and Punishment\" by F. Dostoyevski.
