A4 - zero space is a multifunctional non-commercial centre for contemporary
culture, which is oriented towards creation, presentation and education
in present-day forms of theatre, dance, music and film, contemporary
visual culture and new media art. Project A4 - zero space is the result

New Writing
Project New Writing consists of two programmes oriented on two different
target groups. The main goal of the first one - New Writing for young
playwrights is discovering new dramatic "voices" among Slovak
playwrights, creation of new educational platform for young authors
and enabling continual and concentrated work on new texts (by means
of seminars and workshops) lead by Slovak and foreign experts (playwrights,
directors, dramaturges). Project tends to enhance presentation of new
texts before wider (especially young) audience, motivate young authors
to write and publish and to support diversification of creative, informal
education in Slovakia. The second part of the project New Writing -
Dramatically Young orients on children and youth (10-18 years old),
and initiates work of scriptwriting clubs for children in 6 regions
of Slovakia. Project aims to edify youth trainers and playwriting lecturers
for specific field - teaching children playwriting and develop invaluable
skills among the young participants - such as growing in confidence,
gaining team working abilities, and improving communication skills and
leading children to very early understanding of theatre and insight
into art - all these being skills that could later be applied to other
areas of the formal curriculum.
